Fathers' Day

G'day, Blahggers!  And Happy Fathers' Day to all :)

Fathers' Day isn't just about fathers, but all the important men in your life you could look up to as a father.  Sometimes, that person for people is their uncle, brother, adoptive family, etc.  It's not just a father.  Some people don't have that figure, but rather others.  Sometimes, it's just your mom taking care of you, no men in your life at all.  I have a friend who said his mom was his dad and told her to have a happy Fathers' Day.  It was really beautiful.  Point being, it's not just a father you should celebrate today.  Celebrate any man in your life who has played an influential role in helping you grow up.

If you're mad at your father today, cut him some slack.  He's been raising you.  Everybody lashes out every once in a while.  Raising a child is no easy task, especially if you make it hard for them.  If you two are in a fight now, try and make amends.  How many fathers (or father figures) do you really get in life?  I promise you that you'll regret being hard on them when they're gone.  One of the five stages of grief is guilt, regret, etc.  And yes, I know some people have deadbeat dads.  This doesn't apply to them.

To deadbeat dads, you brought life into this world and you can't leave it now.  It needs you, or someone.  Yes, you brought your child(ren) into this world and they should always be grateful for that, but they can't show it if you're never around.  That's your child.  Help him/her grow up.  It'll all be worth it in the end.

The body of this blahg kinda ended on a sad note...  but I'm going to end by saying to all fathers, thank you for bringing your child into the world.  Every life counts :)
