Huge storm coming our way in VA so I decided to take this time to tell you about how enriching volunteering can be.
A lot of people think volunteering is something like picking up trash on the side of the highway when in reality, there are many opportunities to volunteer. You can volunteer at your local library, like me, food bank, like I used to, soup kitchens, like I want to, and so many others.
There are many reasons to volunteer. One of them is that it's required to graduate high school. So, go out and volunteer before you're ready to graduate and haven't done a single damn thing.
Another, it's not as bad as it seems. I actually find it fun. It's really great to help people, believe it or not. It makes you feel fabulous. Think about it, a lot of us have so much, while others have nothing. The least we could do is spare a little of our time to help out our community.
I find the people who find volunteering lame ignorant. If you're one of those people, then get the hell out of here. What's so bad about lending a hand to people in need? It doesn't take that much time, anyways. It feels good to help out people, and your community if you volunteer at your library like me. It does a whole lot of good. So why not? You too busy leading that "thug life?" Take your "swag" and put it to good use at a homeless shelter.
